What healthy means to us

We understand that the term 'healthy' means something different to everyone. What does being healthy actually mean?

It's personal preference, what may work for one person may not work for another. Our opinion, being healthy is eating a balanced diet and doing some sort of exercise. It's not restricting our diet, it's about listening to our body and eating what we want but knowing when to stop. Health is not just about what you're eating, it's also about what your thinking and saying to yourself. Mental health is just as important as physical health.

You may have read our post on Our Health and Fitness Transformations, if you haven't you can read it here. This year we have definitely embraced body confidence and positivity. It's not always how you look it's how you feel that matters. We all get so caught up in looking perfect, life is too short and you just have to embrace who you are.

What really helped us come to terms with accepting ourselves was reading The Goddess Revolution by Mel Wells. Before reading this book we was always striving to change our body somehow to look a certain way. Why didn't we feel good enough with what we had already achieved with our body transformation?, this book really helped to improve ourselves mentally and through that it helped us physically, we no longer feel the need to always change our body and embrace ourselves more. When you start to not put pressure on yourself to look a certain way, what you've been trying to achieve will eventually happen naturally.

Our top tips to live the healthiest life for you:

1. Moderation is key. You don't need to restrict yourself of any foods.

2. Listen & understand what your body wants & needs.

3. Drink water & stay hydrated.

4. Get moving

5. Make it a lifestyle & find the right balance for you, remember everyone is different.

Just be yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful, magical Person that you are.
