A catch up at Peggy Porschen

Last week we had a catch up with our friend Amy & went to Peggy Porschen to try some of there lovely looking cakes. We had wanted to try this place for ages & it didn't disappoint.

It's not hard to miss as it's the only pink shop on the road, the flowers decorated outside were really pretty and girly. The place is very 'instagrammable' with lot's of people taking photos, but really how could you not. It's such a pretty bakery. We put our names down for the waiting list which was to be expected as it's such a popular destination. Luckily we didn't mind waiting around as the weather was really nice & it was only a 25 minute wait, which we had expected to be longer. Whilst we were waiting we had a peek at what was on offer and there was a good selection to choose from, there's something for everyone from cupcakes to layer cakes in all different flavors.

Once we were seated we had a waiter come and take our order. Lauren went for the Glorious Victoria cake. Not your typical Victoria Sponge cake as it has three layers and has pink frosting on top (which made it even more dreamy) it tasted so good & I would definitely have it again.

Maddy chose the Salted Caramel layer cake that has three layers of different flavor sponge that consisted of  vanilla, caramel (personally this was my fave) and chocolate sponge. In between each layer of sponge was caramel sauce complete with salted caramel frosting on top. The taste and texture of the cake was lovely and the taste was exactly as you would expect for a salted caramel cake to be. I would have this cake again. We also had iced lattes to go with our cakes.

Our friend Amy went for the Dark Chocolate Truffle Cake which she said was really nice and had a lemonade to go with it. The setting was lovely for a good catch up with our friend. We obvs couldn't leave without trying one of the cupcakes to take home, so we picked up two different flavors to try. Lauren went for the Vanilla Salted Caramel cupcake and Maddy went for the Chocolate Salted Caramel cupcake (you can tell we love anything salted caramel!) We can confirm the cupcakes were both very nice with a lovely rich caramel sauce in the center.

Overall our time visiting Peggy Porschen was great and we will definitely be returning. The full size cakes look absolutely amazing and we would consider purchasing one for a special occasion.
