Our skincare routine

Over the years we have tried lots of different skincare brands that have not improved our skin. Once we discovered Dermologica that was the main brand we stuck with until recently. Last August we decided to try out some Liz Earle Products after hearing some rave reviews about the Cleanse and Polish hot cloth cleanser. We have discovered some other products that we love using by Liz Earle that you will see below. These are the products that we find works best for our combination skin type.

Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
After hearing good things about this Garnier Micellar cleansing water we decided to give it a try. It removes makeup efficiently and is very gentle on sensitive skin.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish hot cloth Cleanser

After removing our makeup using face wipes we then use this cleanser. We have been converted since using it. It is a much more gentle cleanser compared to the other cleansers we have used in the past. It doesn't irritate our skin. The cleanser is a rich cream based cleanser that does not strip any natural oils away from the skin. The cleanser spreads evenly over the face and is easy to wash off.  All of Liz Earle's products have naturally active ingredients such as Rosemary,Chamomile, Coco Butter and Eucalyptus Essential Oil. It does come with a muslin cloth however we choose not to use this.
Magnitone Facial Cleansing brush

We use the sensitive brush head
We like to use our facial cleansing brush when we are cleansing our face for a deep cleanse. When using, the brush has a timer for 3 minutes and it will massage the cleanser in circular motions, after 1 minute it will rotate the opposite way. Once the three minutes are up the brush will stop moving to let you know your cleansing is done. We tend to only use the brush once per day 3 times a week. The brush head it came with was too harsh for our skin so we use the sensitive brush head for sensitive skin, this has very soft bristles and doesn't irritate our skin.

We exfoliate 3 times a week and go between both of these exfoliators they both have similar consistency's. They can also be doubled up as a lip scrub.

Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub & Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator

Dermalogica-Skin prep scrub

The skin prep scrub has almost like a sand like finish when applying it to your face. However it is not too rough on the skin. It gently removes dulling surface debris allowing for improved absorption of moisturising treatments. The scrub has comforting botanical extracts of Mallow,Ivy,Cucumber and Aloe Vera.

Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator

This face exfoliator has more larger beads as well as some moisture product similar to the cleanser in the scrub. The products contain Eucalyptus,Coco Butter and fine Jojoba beads.

We go between two different types of toners depending on how our skin is feeling on that particular day.
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
This tonic is very refreshing and has a lovely calming scent to it when applied. The ingredients are Aloe Vera, Calendula,Cucumber, Rose-scented Geranuim and natural source of vitamin E. It revitalizes,Soothes and tones for radiant looking skin.

Pixi Glow Tonic

Who hasn't heard of Pixi Glow tonic there was a time when you couldn't look on Instagram without someone posting about this tonic. So we decided to see what all the hype was about and it didn't disappoint. Once you have used the tonic your face looks brighter and more glowy thanks to the 5% Glycolic Acid, Aloe Vera & Ginseng.

Eye Cream

Simple Age Resisting Eye Cream

We feel it's never to early to start using anti-ageing products. This eye cream is gentle and moisturises the under eye area.
Spot Treatments
100% Tee Tree Oil & Dermalogica Emergency Spot Fix
Tee Tree Oil

Our old favorite that is 100% tee tree oil is budget friendly and does what it needs to do to reduce those pesky breakouts, this is amazing at drying out spots.

Dermalogica Clear Start Emergency Spot Fix

This product was recommended to us and it's an amazing thing in a small tube! Apply it to the effected area and it will work overnight to reduce breakouts. This really does reduce the size of spots overnight!

Boosters & Oils

We like to use these Booster/Oils to give our skin some extra hydration. They can be used on their own or added with a moisturiser. A little goes a long way with both these products.

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster & Pixi Rose Oil Blend

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster

This is one of our favorites. In skin emergency's it gets rid of dry patches on skin overnight. This booster is great for hydrating parched skin. The consistency is almost water like and 1-2  drops is all you need.
Pixi Rose Oil Blend

We wanted to try an oil for the winter months and this one seems to do the trick. It is a thick oil that you apply to face where needed. If you like the smell of Roses you will love this oil. There are also other oils in the brand if rose scent is not your thing.

We have two of our favorite moisturisers that we like to go between in the Summer and Winter months.

Dermalogica Active Moist & Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturizer

Dermalogica Active Moist

This is an oil-free moisturiser that is light weight and doesn't feel heavy on your face. The product contains silk amino acids, plant extracts, lemon, cucumber and burdock. This will be a good moisturiser for the summer months.

Liz Earl Skin Repair Light Moisturiser

This moisturiser is for combination/oily skin, however there is a version for dry skin. It is a thick consistency suitable for the winter months. The product has nourishing ingredients such as Borage, avocado oil, Echinacea, Beta-carotene and natural source vitamin E.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty, face and body mask

Don't mask those spots mask of Magnaminty them!
This is one of our  favorite face masks for a good old pamper session. We use this on our face once a week and usually leave it on for up to 10 mins (You can also use this mask on your body). We use the self preserving formula one as it lasts longer than the non self preserving one. This lasts for around 3 months whereas the other one lasts for about 3-4 weeks! We have used both versions of this mask and like this one better. We find this one is less drying on the skin, the consistency is not as thick and spreads onto the face more easily and have found that it feels more grainy. This smells of peppermint and once washed off  leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and more awake.
